Management Profiles
Leonard P. Kline, Jr., President and CEO
Len Kline has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, most recently as CEO of Compass Insurance Agency Inc., Compass Indemnity Corporation and Compass Consulting and Benefits. There, he spent the last five years consolidating middle-market agencies in the Southern U.S., growing the business from $4 million to $68 million in revenue in four years. Prior to joining Compass, he was Managing Director /Chairman of Marsh & McLennan’s Kansas City office from 1994 to 2001.
Calvin J. Stolle, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Stolle brings 30 years of executive financial leadership and experience to Ascension, including a successful record of identifying and completing numerous strategic acquisitions. Prior to joining Ascension, he held senior financial management positions at Black & Veatch Corporation, where he was responsible for acquisitions and divestitures, including $125 million in corporate acquisitions in the U.S. and abroad.
P. Stephen Harris, General Counsel

Stephen Harris serves as General Counsel, and brings over 30 years of legal and acquisition experience to Ascension. Most recently, Mr. Harris served as General Counsel for DeLaval, Inc., where he was responsible for overseeing and directing all legal matters for the company and its U.S. subsidiaries. In addition, Mr. Harris managed the company’s global and local insurance programs as well as Human Resources and Safety and Regulatory functions. Mr. Harris also brings significant acquisitions experience to Ascension, managing all the legal and due diligence activities for 23 acquisitions and 14 divestitures since 1989.
John D. Doak, Senior Vice President, Acquisitions

John D. Doak brings 18 years of executive level leadership and operations management experience to Ascension. Most recently, he held the position of Resident Managing Director at Aon Risk Services, where he was responsible for Oklahoma agency management and business development with a specific emphasis on cross-selling and internal growth and account penetration. Prior to that, he served as an officer at Marsh USA, Inc., and owned his own agency with Farmers Insurance. John has written extensively for insurance trade publications and business journals on a variety of insurance-related topics.
